“The Presence of Thetys” (2021)
Debut solo exhibition, halle50 at DomagkAteliers, Munich
In August 2021, my debut exhibition “The Presence of Thetys” took place in the halle50 at DomagkAteliers in Munich. This represented my first artistic expression of the themes informed by my architecture background: proportion, dimension, transformation and scale.
Exhibition Text:
At the end of the Triassic, about 200 million years ago, the former supercontinent „Pangaea“ began to break apart as a result of plate tectonic upheavals.
At the eastern edge of this almost unimaginable land mass there was a huge sea bay, named after a Titaness of Greek mythology, the Thetys. The remnants of the Thetys are found, among others, in today’s Mediterranean Sea, and its former seabed now forms European mainland in many places.
In this sense, this prehistoric ocean, whose temporal dimension defies our imagination, is still present. It, or rather she, has only changed shape.
The exhibition was reviewed in the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
